Safety isn't an add-on at WAAVA. It's built into the network. Every WAAVA station and portable power bank deployed across Australia has met applicable Australian electrical, battery and product-safety requirements before entering service.

WAAVA stations are built for continuous operation in busy environments. Stations securely charge WAAVA power banks internally while monitoring their charging status. Damaged or abnormal power banks are removed from circulation rather than returned to normal service.

As part of WAAVA's commercial Australian rollout, applicable equipment has completed the required assessment, testing, documentation and registration processes for the Australian market.
RCM — Regulatory Compliance Mark
Applicable WAAVA electrical equipment carries the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) once the relevant Australian compliance requirements have been completed. The RCM represents compliance under the relevant EESS electrical-safety framework and ACMA labelling requirements. WAAVA, as the Australian importer/supplier, does not rely on a Chinese manufacturer's existing CE/FCC/RoHS markings. ACMA makes clear that Australian suppliers/importers have their own obligations, including testing/evidence, compliance records, registration where applicable and appropriate labelling.
EESS — Electrical Equipment Safety System
Applicable mains-powered components have been assessed under the Electrical Equipment Safety System (EESS). The exact classification of each WAAVA component has been determined before launch. Equipment that falls within EESS can have different registration/evidence requirements depending on its risk classification. This distinction matters because some commercial or extra-low-voltage equipment can be outside EESS scope, while associated mains chargers/power supplies can have their own requirements. Out-of-scope equipment still has electrical-safety obligations.
Australian electrical safety
Where applicable, WAAVA equipment has been tested against the relevant Australian/New Zealand electrical safety standards, with technical documentation and evidence of compliance maintained by WAAVA as the Australian Responsible Supplier/importer.
EMC / Electromagnetic compatibility
Stations containing electronic and/or wireless communications equipment have been assessed against applicable ACMA electromagnetic compatibility and radiocommunications requirements before supply. ACMA requires suppliers of regulated equipment to establish compliance, maintain records, register where required and correctly label compliant products.
Battery transport
For the power banks, WAAVA has obtained the relevant lithium-battery transport testing/documentation from the manufacturer—particularly the UN 38.3 test documentation/test summary—before moving batteries internationally.

Ripple 8 & Ripple 12
Ripple countertop stations are built primarily for indoor and appropriately sheltered environments.
For selected outdoor locations, Ripple stations are installed using a purpose-built steel WAAVA stand, subject to the completed station/stand environmental specification and site assessment.

Swell & Surge
WAAVA Swell and Surge floor-standing stations are initially specified for indoor installation only, unless an appropriate tested environmental/IP rating has been obtained for an outdoor variant.
They're ideally suited to high-footfall indoor environments.
Safe installation
Every WAAVA installation follows a simple site assessment. Stations are positioned on a stable surface, away from emergency exits and evacuation routes, without obstructing pedestrian traffic or accessibility pathways. Mains-powered stations connect only to an appropriate Australian electrical outlet and do not require venues to modify the station or its electrical system. WAAVA retains responsibility for installation requirements rather than allowing venues to improvise installations.
Ongoing safety
Safety doesn't end at installation.
WAAVA isn't another imported charging box. It's Australia's own portable power network—built to higher standards, managed locally, and designed to be the most reliable rental experience in the country.
MONITOR
Stations are remotely monitored where technically supported.
INSPECT
Stations and power banks are inspected as part of WAAVA's maintenance program.
MAINTAIN
Damaged or abnormal power banks are removed from circulation rather than returned to service.
REPLACE
Equipment reaching its defined service-life or failing inspection is replaced.
